We have been supporting unaccompanied young people for a number of years.

The effects of the traumatic events these young people have faced prior to their arrival in the UK can continue to affect them for substantial periods of time through a range of symptoms, such as flashbacks, sleep disturbances, memory impairment, anger and disruptive behaviour, self-harm and even suicide.

A number of these young people may wish to challenge their age, and while this challenge is being processed we are able to provide support and guidance to them in a warm and homely environment.

Staff are very proud of the in-house lessons we prepare and deliver. These lessons are based around British history and culture and give young people the opportunity to practice their English Skills whilst learning informative and practical information.

We have supported many young people in attending college and carry out mock interviews in preparation.

Provide reports for the courts in regards to the support the young people require and receive.

We liaise closely with the refugee council and will support young people with the Red Cross tracing services as well as referring for therapy with the refugee council.

During lockdown the young people were invited to create a mindfulness garden, the young people took this challenge on with ease. Creating a space for other young people to enjoy.
