We are an Ofsted Registered Supported Accommodation for young people and care leavers in Medway aged between 16-25 years.

We support young people and care leavers throughout their stay with us to give them the confidence they need to move on successfully to independence by improving their independent living skills and basic life skills in a trauma informed way. Everyone needs somewhere they can call home, at Bridging the Gap that is exactly what we strive to provide a warm, clean, friendly homely environment where the young person can feel safe and secure. Bridging the Gap is an Ofsted Registered Supported Accommodation.

Investing in your young people is investing in everyone’s future. We do this by offering supportive accommodation and working with young people to achieve their ultimate potential and to achieve their life goals and ambitions.

We do this by listening, connecting, working together, encouraging and engaging making young people independent, emotionally resilient and stand on their own two feet

We see a difference when we work together in a supportive open and collaborative way. Young people can take advantage of the therapy on offer when it is agreed with yourself and this can and does eliminate negative thoughts associated with trauma and anxiety, which in turn will impact their future in a positive way and enable them to get on with the things they need to do to improve their life skills like personal hygiene and self care, education, budgeting, cooking and the skills they need for their future.

Bridging the Gap has been improving the lives of young people since 2004 and making a difference is our ultimate goal. Many young people have come and gone from Bridging the Gap and have done exceedingly well working in the NHS, as paramedics, bringing up their own families successfully, being good parents and just succeeding in their own right. Now and again they may contact us for advice which is great as they always know we are here to help and support them however we can.

Bridging the Gap gives the best support possible to young people who have become through no fault of their own, estranged from their families and found themselves in the care system.
